Coming in Season 82:
- The Philadelphia Story, by Philip Barry
SEPT. 5-7, 11-14
Divorcee Tracy Lord, an inhibited and spoiled daughter of the privileged, becomes engaged to a successful young snob. A romantic quadrangle ensues when Tracy becomes interested in a reporter sent to cover the wedding arrangements.
- Deathtrap, by Ira Levin
NOV. 7-9, 13-16
Sidney Bruhl, a once successful but now struggling Broadway writer teaching at a college, receives a script from one of his students -- a script Sidney recognizes immediately as a potential hit. With plagiarism in mind, he and his wife offer collaboration to the student, an idea which the younger man quickly accepts.
- Private Lives, by Noel Coward
JAN. 9-11, 15-18 (2009)
Elyot and Amanda, once married and now honeymooning with new spouses at the same hotel, meet by chance, reignite the old spark and elope. They again find their fiery romance alternating between passions of love and anger. Their aggrieved spouses appear and a roundelay of affiliations ensues.
- Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, by Alan Ball
MAR. 6-8, 12-15 (2009)
During an ostentatious wedding reception, five reluctant, identically clad bridesmaids hide out in an upstairs bedroom, each with her own reason to avoid the proceedings below. As the afternoon wears on, these five very different women joyously discover a common bond.
- Twelve Angry Jurors, adapted by Sherman Sergel
MAY 1-3, 7-9
Convening after a six-day trial, twelve jurors must decide the guilt or the innocence of a troubled youth. The tension grows as the group disagrees and personal attacks are made.
